Downloading and Installing the Software

NOTE: For Mac only, if an Unidentified Developer message (shown below) appears, complete the following steps: Open System Preferences → Open Security and Privacy → Click “Open Anyway” → Click “Open” in the resulting pop-up message.  Disregard Step 2.


  • Open the downloaded file from either the download bar at the bottom of your browser or your local destination folder for downloaded items
    • If you receive a warning message similar to those shown below, click “Run Anyway” or “Open Anyway”

PC:


Mac:

  • Click “Next”

  • Check the box to accept the terms of the EULA and click “Next”

  • Follow the prompts for choosing the Destination folder and click “Next”

  • Click “Install” to begin the installation.

  • If you receive a warning asking you to confirm that you want to install the software on your computer, select “Yes”
  • Click “Finish”

  • Double-click on one of the SynGlyphX icons  on your desktop (GlyphDesigner, DataMapper, or GlyphViewer)
  • Enter your User Name and Password at the prompt and begin using GlyphIt®

If you are going to create and / or view geo-spatial visualizations, you will also need to follow the steps below to load a MapQuest key.

  •  Once logged in, navigate to the Tools drop down menu on the main toolbar and select “Map Download Settings”

  • Paste a MapQuest key into the “MapQuest Open Key” field in the Map Download Settings pop-up

Note: To get a MapQuest key, please e-mail SynGlyphX at support@synglyphx.com or refer to this Knowledge Base article to obtain your own.


  • Click "OK"
