Note: This article applies to Windows PCs only.

Some users may get an error when they attempt to open GlyphViewer, DataMapper, or GlyphDesigner for the first time.  This error can occur when Visual C++ 2010 is not installed on the user’s computer.

Click “OK” to close the error.

To fix the issue, the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) and the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64) need to be installed on the user's computer.  Click on the links below to direct you to the Microsoft support page with instructions for downloading and installing each package.

Once these packages are installed, click on any of the   icons to open the desired SynGlyphX application (GlyphViewer, DataMapper, or GlyphDesigner).  There is no need to reinstall the SynGlyphX software.
